Opera Gianni Schicchi & Suor Angelica at Cairo Opera House

Cairo Opera House presents a special operatic evening featuring two masterpieces by Giacomo Puccini, Gianni Schicchi and Suor Angelica, performed by the Cairo Opera Company, Cairo Opera Orchestra, and Cairo Opera Choir on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the Main Hall of Cairo Opera House in Cairo, Egypt.

This double bill brings together two contrasting works in one night. Gianni Schicchi delivers sharp wit and comic brilliance through its fast paced storytelling and expressive ensembles, while Suor Angelica offers a deeply emotional and spiritual experience, exploring themes of loss, redemption, and inner strength through rich orchestration and powerful vocal performances.

The production is conducted by Mohamed Saad Basha, directed by Mahdy El Sayed, with artistic direction by Prof. Emad Adel.
