Exciting news for the food industry of the country: For the first time in Egypt, Baky Hospitality’s new exclusive Culinary Advisor, a renowned top Chef, Reif Othman is bringing Egypt’s name to an international scale with its locally made fine dishes.

Othman is a multi-award-winning international chef whose work has been instrumental in transforming the culinary landscape of Dubai, Monaco, London, Miami, Singapore and the U.A.E. His inventive culinary creations have seen Othman gain global recognition and become one of the most sought-after chefs in the world.

Baky Hospitality, a Hospitality company founder of many fine dining restaurants and bars in Cairo, is thriving to take the hospitality experience to another level, renewing all its menus using mostly local products and ingredients, a mad challenge undertaken by Othman. He will be creating refined gourmet cuisine alternating between Contemporary Japanese cuisine, Mediterranean fusion, to Modern Italian with mainly Egyptian products.

On his visit to Egypt, Othman discovered the richness of regional products and envisioned a huge future for all these products on the international level.

“When we drove in Cairo, I saw someone grilling corn and frying batata. This intrigued me. So I thought let’s do something with this, let’s bring the street into the fine world.” –Reif Othman.

Top Chef Reif Othman, named by Arabian Business magazine the “12th Most influential Person in Dubai” and the 100 Most influential Person in the Emirates in 2017. He was credited with kicking off Dubai’s fine dining scene after he became Regional Executive Chef of Zuma Dubai, Abu Dhabi & Turkey overseeing Miami and Hong Kong in 2009. Under his leadership, Zuma Dubai became the only restaurant to make it to the coveted list of The World’s 100 Best restaurants– and kept it for four consecutive years from 2012 to 2016.

Then, as owner and chef at PLAY Restaurant and Lounge, Othman and the team won Time Out –Restaurant of the Year. With so many achievements under his belt, Othman also worked on a new culinary adventure partnering with Flávio Briatore at Sumosan Twiga in London, Moscow, Monaco & Dubai a restaurant that blends Italian signature dishes with contemporary Japanese cuisine.

Baky Hospitality founded in 2014 by Ayman Baky, has been driven to take the hospitality scene in Egypt to international standards. Its portfolio of establishments contains fine dining restaurants, a bar and an elegant beach side restaurant featuring acclaimed international performers.
