Habibi Funk, Serag & Youssef Roshdy at Cairo Jazz Club

Across generations of sound and land, this lineup brings together artists connected by a shared instinct for discovery! At the center of the night is Berlin-based DJ Habibi Funk, who has carved out a unique space in global music culture through his meticulous archival work, uncovering rare recordings from the Arab world and North Africa. Through Habibi Funk, he has reintroduced audiences to overlooked gems of funk and disco from the 1960s to the 1980s, music that once bounced off of the walls of Casablanca all the way to Beirut and beyond in the Arab world. His DJ set is an excavation experience of vintage Arabic grooves with global funk and a rare fusion of disco elements and traditional Arabic music that resonate far beyond their era! Joining the night is Youssef Roshdy, Known for his intuitive and groove-led approach behind the decks, swooning you with house-driven rhythms and deeper electronic textures. Opening the evening is Serag, bringing a fresh perspective to the lineup with a selection sealed with an emblem of contemporary club culture.
