DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: \nIn this workshop\, we will learn how to create a stop motion video idea using the technique of paper collage. We’ll work on scene design by printing\, cutting images\, and building characters and backgrounds. In the end\, we’ll use Photoshop to animate the elements step by step. \nABOUT NABEELA ROSHDY: \nNabeela Roshdy is a Cairo-based visual artist and art director whose practice moves between analog collage\, mixed media\, branding\, and editorial design. Guided by curiosity and an experimental spirit\, she builds layered visual worlds from fragments of her surroundings—cutting\, reassembling\, and composing stories that reflect on human behavior.. Influenced by the spontaneity of Dadaism and the freedom of eclectic art practices\, her work blurs the line between fine art and design. \nEducated in Graphic Design at the German University in Cairo\, Nabeela’s path has unfolded across creative spaces in Egypt and Saudi Arabia—shaping her visual language through experience as both designer and art director. From Moshtarak Studios to her current role leading art direction at Le Lab Art Gallery\, she moves between commercial and artistic realms. \nHer work has been exhibited in several group shows\, including Shababco Vol.7: Pop Culture (L’app Art Gallery\, 2023)\, Midnight 00:00 (L’app Art Gallery\, 2022)\, Connection Cairo (Arkan Plaza\, 2019)\, and It Seemed Like a Good Idea (Margo Veillon Gallery\, 2018). Nabeela has led collage workshops with Saad Studio and co-instructed a collaborative workshop with Saad Studio and Zawya. She continues to expand her creative dialogue through international workshops such as 100 Poster Battle: Sharing Cultures (2020/2023) and 100/100 Best Arabic Posters with Tim Henger (2019).

We’ll also learn how to write our names in both Ruq‘ah and Naskh\, and understand the differences between them.This workshop is suitable for anyone who wants to improve their handwriting—no prior experience in Arabic calligraphy is required. \nABOUT REDA AL-ANWAR: \nThe calligraphy artist Reda Al-Anwar is a board member of the Egyptian Calligraphers Syndicate\, a member of the Egyptian General Society for Arabic Calligraphy\, and a member of the Civil Association for Fine Arts. He is a graduate of the Arabic Calligraphy Academy and specializes in Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation. \nHe has participated in many art exhibitions both inside and outside Egypt. Among the most notable are the Al Janadriyah Festival exhibition in Riyadh and several exhibitions in Saudi Arabia and Denmark. He has also taken part in numerous local exhibitions in Cairo\, including exhibitions held at Beit El-Suhaymi\, the Museum of Islamic Art\, the Mohamed Ali Museum\, and Prince Taz Palace.

She studied media and translation and works in the field of Arts and Culture. She has designed and led numerous art and creative writing workshops in several cultural spaces such as Cairo Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences\, Wabi Sabi\, and Alwan w Awtar. She participated in many cultural programs and produced several art books\, expressing herself through a combination of different media\, such as writing\, drawing\, and collage. She is currently interested in independent art book publishing through her project “Swimming with the Whales”\, which has now become a collective of 5 artists.

Her passion for bookbinding began while working as a former assistant at the Bookbinding Workshop at the Faculty of Applied Arts and Sciences (FASA). Fatma now conducts bookbinding workshops\, teaching participants how to work with paper and sew books using simple methods\, while creating artistic and expressive spaces for them to explore the craft.
